“It has been our privilege to work with Makayla these past 6 months.  Every time that she comes in the door you know that you are going to get a hello and a smile, followed by a thank you when she leaves.  It is a pleasure working with athletes like Makayla as she is truly the embodiment of what our program at PSP3 is all about; creating a fun, competitive environment where athletes set aside their talents and egos and where the only thing that defines you is your work ethic.  We’re so excited that Makayla will be furthering her volleyball career and education at Park University next fall.  I know that she will make a big impact on her team socially and on the court!”

“I got the pleasure of meeting Carson when we started our baseball team training at Blue Valley West this past winter.  I cannot say enough about Carson’s tenacity to be his very best at everything that he does.  With no aspirations to play college baseball one would think that Carson would cruise through his senior year but that was far from the truth.  Carson set a high goal for himself, to be the best pitcher in a dominate conference and he came in every day working to be that guy.  I know that same mindset will carry over into college and beyond as Carson has chosen to attend the University of Missouri to further his education.  We wish Carson the best and look forward to following his journey!”

How Long Have You Been Training at PSP31.5 years

Favorite Movement/Lift: Back Squat

Favorite Part of Training at PSP3The competition and the coaches

Advice to Other Athletes: “Work hard, you will be surprised how good that you can be.”

“It has been my privilege to work with Brett at our facility and during my time at BVHS doing the baseball winter/spring workouts.  Brett is one of the guys that is a team first player.  His junior year he did not see a lot of playing time due to the talent that was ahead of him but that did not let that stop him from relentlessly pursuing the chance to learn and get better.  It is due to that hard work ethic that not only did Brett land a starting spot his senior year but he was also an All-EKL player.  Brett is a weight room rat, he’s squats the house but never hesitates to ask how he can get better at even the most basic movements.  One of my favorite things about Brett is his modesty.  Most would not know that he not only is our All-Time High School back squat record holder (bodyweight 175lbs+), he also is the leader in our burpee challenge that we have here at PSP3.  I am so excited that Brett is getting the chance to further his education and baseball career at Washburn University where I know he will be a key player for the Ichabods in the years to come.”

Advice to Other Athletes: “Don’t forget that sports are supposed to be fun.”

“Max Molitor came to us to prepare for his senior football season at Blue Valley where he wanted to set the tone for the team on the defensive side of the ball.  He doesn’t know how to do anything without maximum effort, which is his way of leading by example.  Now that football is over Max is preparing for life and learning to train in a way that is sustainable for his health and fitness goals.  He is looking to continue his academic career and join the ROTC at K-State this fall.  We have been honored to have him as a part of our family and we are looking forward to the great things he’s going to accomplish in the future.”

Favorite Part of Training at PSP3Getting the opportunity to know the coaches and the athletes from all different schools and sports

Advice to Other Athletes: “Enjoy the process.”

“I may not know a more positive role model for other athletes to follow than Adam.  He is well mannered, very kind, extremely caring and constantly putting others before himself.  He strives to do the best he can in anything he does and it obviously shows.  Adam wanted his senior year to be memorable and enjoyable, as he knew it would be his last competitive running season.  He trained and did everything he could to do just that.  He went on to place at the Kansas State Cross Country meet and then just a few weeks ago became the 6A Boys State Champion in the 1600m and 3200m!  His accomplishments in the classroom and in his sport though amazing, simply do not compare to the young man that we have had the pleasure of watching grow up for the last few years.  We are extremely proud of the person that Adam has become, and we will miss his presence in the gym.  We wish him the best as he continues his academic career at K-State in the fall!”

Advice to Other Athletes: “Don’t give up.  Push yourself to the max.”

“Logan, aka “Skip Dinger”, is one of those kids that you just love to be around.  This is a guy that was cut his freshmen year of high school baseball but here he is headed off to play collegiately.  He was small and skinny, something that might be easy to overlook as a coach.  Logan came to us with a fire in his belly, a fire that burns stronger every month he’s been here.  He went from a guy who just wanted to make the high school team the next year to a guy getting letters from colleges wanting him to be a part of their baseball program.  All of that is due solely from Logan’s unwavering will to never give up, to face adversity and get up every time he has fallen.  I am honored that we got the opportunity to be a part of this young man’s journey, something that I will personally reflect on for years to come.  This is what never giving up can do for you.  We wish Logan the very best at Ottawa, I know he will not only excel in the classroom but on the field as well!”

Advice to Other Athletes: “You can always get back after an injury or an illness.”

“Known for starting “Tank-Top Tuesdays” Tristan is always ready to get in a great workout.  He came to us looking to improve his athleticism so that he may have an outstanding senior year throwing the javelin for Shawnee Mission South.  Unfortunately due to a serious hospitalization, Tristan did not have the season that he planned on.  However his true passion lies in engineering and he is super excited to move on to K-State to further his academic career.  We are proud of who Tristan has become over the past year as he’s come out of his shell and we have really enjoyed having him as a part of our family.  We can’t wait to see what his future holds!”

How Long Have You Been Training at PSP32 years

Favorite Movement/Lift: Back Squat and Bicep Curls

Favorite Part of Training at PSP3The coaches who know what you need to consistently get better (aka the gainz)

Advice to Other Athletes: “Get all your workouts in, go to yoga and never stop curling.”

“The sum of what Rhett is as a person is summed up with his advice above.  Rhett is a fun-loving, hard nosed young man that NEVER missed a workout.  Driving over an hour to get to us could easily be an excuse but in two years I never once heard it.  Rhett will admit that he is not he most talented athlete, but you would be hard pressed to find someone that has worked harder than him to get where he is today.  Every bit of Rhett’s accomplishments have been earned, nothing has been given to him.  It is that hard nosed mentality that I know will carry Rhett a long way in life.  We’re excited that he has chosen to further his education and baseball career at Baker University and know that he will push his teammates to be the best that they can!”
