About Coach

My sister and I grew up in Overland Park. My mom (Kristi) works for the Blue Valley School District, and my dad (Rick) is a retired football coach/teacher. I played football, baseball, and ran track at Blue Valley High before signing with Pittsburg State to play football. There, I played running back, and safety, and got my degree in exercise science. After graduating I did several internships and coached at Texas Christian University, The University of Nebraska Omaha, and The University of Kansas. Between those three schools I was the head strength coach for seven different teams and assisted with over 12 different sports. My favorite sports teams are the Chiefs, and the Braves. In my free time, I like to fish, golf, and hang out with friends. My favorite food is fried okra with mac & cheese….try it.

Turning Point

I’ve never had a singular moment that led me to wanting to be a strength and conditioning coach. I’ve always enjoyed the weight room and appreciated what it did for me as an athlete. My leadership skills and passion for exercise science pointed me in the right direction.

Motivation & Passion

My motivation and passion come from my fear of letting people down. When I take responsibility for an athlete, team, or any client, I’m going to do my best to provide the best service I can offer. I also know how big of an influence (good or bad) the weight room had on my career. Knowing that I can effect an athletes’ career, a teams season, or a persons life, keeps me motivated.
